Part or all of it was home to Peter Corby in the 1970s. Peter owned Corby Trouser Presses. He later sold it and bought Sir Max Aitkins house just inside Cowes Harbour. He also had Peter Seller's Rolls with the plate PS1.
I haven't seen him in 40 years but we were good pals once.

I've read the exchanges; full of rhetoric, but nothing solid.

I wonder whether the IWA rally (over the August BH at Beale Park) might be a vehicle for folks to make themselves heard / find out more. EA had a tent at the last IWA rally there, and made some presentations.

Even though the public view of the IWA is that it's for narrowboats (well 600 moored breasted up says something), they are about "Waterways", and the show is a good event for boaters and families alike.

July 4th. (ish). Stirred up a load of mud when exiting Caversham Lock downstream, but keeping tighter into the RHS. Most boats bear left immediately when leaving so wouldn't be aware. Draught - 2ft. 3ins.

Abingdon. Starboard hand buoynear the "canal" bridge has been removed, so assume its been dredged. However, ther is still a shoal closer into the RHS bank (going up).
